The cornerstone of your legacy to your family and to the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) is your estate plan. On July 1, 2017, the California and Oregon Provinces became USA West Province of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits West). Both Provinces combined their legacy programs.
We would be honored to welcome you into the Ignatian Heritage Society. This legacy society gives the Jesuits an opportunity to thank those who have remembered them in their estate planning. We can show you a variety of tax-effective ways to include Jesuits in your estate plan:
Bequests. Have your attorney review the following language:
"I give and bequeath (name a percentage of your estate, a specific amount, or a specific property) to Jesuits West, located in Los Gatos, California."
Charitable gift annuities. These provide guaranteed fixed-income payments to you for life and a future legacy gift in your name to support the Jesuits.
Charitable trusts. We can provide you and your advisers with estimates of the income and tax benefits of making gifts of cash, stock, or real estate to a charitable trust.
Insurance policies. We can show you how you can name the Jesuits as a beneficiary of all or part of the proceeds of your life insurance policy.
Retirement plans. Your IRA or other retirement plan may be vulnerable to both income and estate taxes. You can avoid such double taxation of your estate gift by designating Jesuits West as a beneficiary of your IRA or other retirement plan.
